by Christopher Gerby Mother Nature put a major damper on the New York Buzz's attempts to salvage what's left of their 2003 season. Inclement weather (including a tornado watch on Monday) forced the team's final two home matches indoors. A 5-0 loss in women's doubles sank the Buzz on July 21st, as they fell 21-18 to Philadelphia Freedoms. Wednesday's home finale was a different story, with Shaun Rudman's 5-1 singles win over Patrick McEnroe keying a 23-20 upset of the New York Sportimes. The Buzz sport a 3-9 record as they prepare to finish out the campaign with matches in Springfield and Kansas City. |
