On The Line chatted with Patty Schnyder after her first round loss to Florencia Labat.

Patty Schnyder Q: When you came back to 5-4 in the first and had a few break points, it looked like you were about to get back in the match. Did it take you a while to recover, just from losing the set that way, the disappointment?

A: Yeah. It's easier to lose a set just 6-1 and then you can start all over. She get up and I came back to 5-4 and had break points when she was serving. Then she hit that ace and won the set like that. It was not really helpful for the second set...

Q: Do you usually have trouble against fellow left-handed players like Florencia?

A: No, not really. Yeah, I do like to play righties, but it was not specially a left-handed problem.

Q: Are you glad that you're at least still in the doubles draw and you have a chance to maybe get some wins before the week is over?

A: Yeah, of course. As long as I'm in the tournament, I want to win my matches. And now it's only the doubles left and, yeah, hopefully I can do well.
